Message Thread Cleaner Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 24, 2026

Message Thread Cleaner does not collect, store, sell, or transmit personal data. All processing happens locally in the user's browser.

Data the extension accesses

When the user starts a deletion run, the extension temporarily reads the structure and visible controls of the open Facebook Messenger page. This access is used only to find conversation rows, open their menus, choose the delete command, and confirm the user's requested deletion.

How data is used

Page information is processed in memory on the user's device only for the extension's single purpose: deleting chat threads covered by the user's active run. The extension does not read message contents for another purpose, create user profiles, serve advertising, or perform analytics.

Data storage and sharing

The extension has no developer-operated server, makes no external network requests, and does not store or share Messenger content, browsing history, account details, or deletion activity.

User control

The extension runs only after the user opens its popup, acknowledges that deletion is irreversible, chooses a per-run limit, and presses Start. The user can stop the run from the popup at any time.

Chrome Web Store Limited Use

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Changes

If this policy changes, its effective date will be updated. Material changes to data handling will also be disclosed in the extension and its Chrome Web Store listing before they take effect.
